Christophe T\u00e9tard claims to have designed an architecture, named <strong>InfiniX<\/strong>, that gets around it \u2014 not by reducing it, but by completely changing how the motor produces its force. class=\"wp-block-heading\">The brake every electric motor has been dragging since 1831<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A classic electric motor is simple: a current creates a magnetic field, that field pushes or pulls on magnets fixed to the spinning part (the rotor), and that produces movement. But the moment the rotor moves, an opposite phenomenon automatically kicks in \u2014 the motor turns, whether it wants to or not, into a small dynamo generating a current opposed to the one driving it. The faster it spins, the stronger this counter-current, and the more energy it takes just to hold the speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This phenomenon, described by Michael Faraday in 1831, isn&rsquo;t a design flaw: it&rsquo;s a direct consequence of energy conservation. The entire scientific consensus agrees on that. It&rsquo;s this invisible brake, present in <strong>every<\/strong> electric motor today \u2014 cars, wind turbines, pumps, datacenters \u2014 that dissipates a significant share of the energy fed into them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The InfiniX sleight of hand<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What Christophe T\u00e9tard demonstrated comes down to two steps, explained and shown live with a motor opened up on the table:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Make a magnet invisible, without breaking it.<\/strong> By winding a coil around a neodymium magnet and running the right current through it, the field created by the coil cancels out exactly with the magnet&rsquo;s own field. From the outside, no magnetic field can be detected at that spot anymore \u2014 the magnet itself loses none of its properties: it&rsquo;s reversible and instantaneous, the moment the current is cut.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Open the circuit at exactly the right moment.<\/strong> Cancelling the field alone isn&rsquo;t enough: as long as the circuit stays closed, a magnet moving nearby keeps inducing a voltage in the coil. The real trick is to literally <em>break<\/em> the circuit \u2014 not just stop the current. Once the circuit is truly open, the magnet&rsquo;s natural field reappears instantly, and since a second magnet (on the fixed part) faces it in a repulsion configuration, the two magnets push each other apart. <strong>It&rsquo;s no longer the current pushing the rotor \u2014 it&rsquo;s two magnets dancing with each other.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Direct consequence: since the coil no longer generates the motion \u2014 the interaction between two permanent magnets does \u2014 there&rsquo;s no back-electromotive force at that level anymore. On the table, Christophe T\u00e9tard first ran a classic motor \u2014 near-instant stop the moment the coil is short-circuited \u2014 then an InfiniX motor, without that braking effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"border:1px solid rgba(200,168,75,.45);background:rgba(200,168,75,.08);border-radius:12px;padding:18px 22px;margin:28px 0\">\n<strong>\ud83d\udcf0 Covered by the press.<\/strong> <strong>NEXUS<\/strong> magazine, which has long covered unconventional science, followed the talk and announced an exclusive interview with Christophe T\u00e9tard. Read their piece: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nexus.fr\/actualite\/conference\/christophe-tetard-moteur\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00ab\u00a0Conf\u00e9rence : le moteur qui d\u00e9fie 200 ans de physique\u00a0\u00bb<\/a>, on nexus.fr.\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A discovery, not a miracle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Christophe T\u00e9tard stressed this point several times: InfiniX <strong>does not claim<\/strong> to produce energy out of nothing, and does not violate any conservation law. What is claimed, precisely, is the absence of the classic internal brake \u2014 not the creation of energy. An energy surplus was indeed observed during testing (on the order of a few tens of watts), but a full, rigorous study of it remains, by his own admission, separate work still in progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His scientific paper was rejected by several traditional peer-reviewed journals \u2014 not on substance, but for lack of academic affiliation (what he calls \u00ab\u00a0the Matthew effect\u00a0\u00bb). So he chose to publish it in open access, with the full protocol, so that any lab, fablab or engineer can verify and reproduce it independently. A patent was filed (with the French INPI, dated 9 July 2026) \u2014 not on the physical principle itself (which cannot be patented), but on the system&rsquo;s concrete applications, to keep a large corporation from claiming the technology before the community can get to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u00ab\u00a0It&rsquo;s not for me to say where the energy surplus comes from. If InfiniX works as described, that waste disappears. A motor that loses less energy is a motor that does more with less.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A concrete example: an electric car, like an Infiniti SUV<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Take a high-end electric SUV, like those from the Infiniti brand (for illustration only, not an actual partnership). Today, a good share of the battery&rsquo;s energy is simply lost to this internal motor brake, especially at highway speed. If an InfiniX motor replaced the conventional motor:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The car would go further on the same battery (more range, without a bigger or heavier battery)<\/li>\n<li>Or, for the same range, the battery could be smaller and cheaper, with fewer rare metals inside (less cobalt, less lithium to mine)<\/li>\n<li>The car would heat up less while driving, so it would need less cooling, making it simpler and cheaper to build<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In everyone&rsquo;s home<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A refrigerator, a washing machine, a fan, a water pump \u2014 all of these have a small electric motor inside that suffers from the same problem. An InfiniX motor in these appliances would mean a lower electricity bill, without changing anything else at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In industry<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Factories run thousands of large electric motors (conveyors, pumps, compressors) that sometimes operate 24\/7. Even a small percentage of energy savings, multiplied by thousands of motors running non-stop, adds up to enormous sums saved \u2014 and therefore cheaper products to manufacture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In countries short on electricity<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In some parts of the world, electricity is scarce, expensive, or rationed. A water pump or small generator that wastes less energy could run essential equipment (pumping drinking water, refrigerating vaccines) with smaller, cheaper solar panels \u2014 making these technologies accessible to populations that don&rsquo;t have them today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">On the environment<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Less energy wasted means, for the same use, less electricity needing to be produced \u2014 so potentially fewer coal or gas power plants needed somewhere in the world, since less has to be produced for the same result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">On ambient energy and the observed surplus<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The researchers&rsquo; working hypothesis is that the observed energy gain comes from an exchange with the ambient energy of the environment \u2014 a principle already known and used, for example, in heat pumps or solar panels. Doctors who examined the protocol confirmed the absence of a measurement artifact; the precise explanation of the phenomenon is still under study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The process that would, in theory, allow a form of self-sufficiency<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here is the reasoning, step by step, to understand the logic \u2014 without claiming it is validated today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 1 \u2014 Today, energy comes only from the outside.<\/strong> A conventional motor consumes electricity from the grid or a battery, period. All the energy that comes out (the motion) comes entirely from the energy that goes in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 2 \u2014 If a real surplus exists, it has to come from somewhere.<\/strong> The measurements mentioned above suggest an energy surplus at the output compared to the electrical energy injected. If this surplus is confirmed, physics requires that it come from a source: under the current working hypothesis, an exchange with the ambient energy of the environment (much like a heat pump draws from outside air, or a solar panel from light).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 3 \u2014 Redirect part of the output back to the input.<\/strong> If this surplus is large and stable enough, one could imagine, technically, drawing part of it off to power the motor itself instead of outside electricity \u2014 much like a solar water heater uses part of its own captured energy to run its circulation pump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 4 \u2014 If the loop&rsquo;s balance stays positive, dependence on the grid decreases.<\/strong> If, once this loop is in place, the system keeps capturing more ambient energy than it consumes to run, the amount of outside electricity needed would progressively decrease \u2014 until, in theory, none is needed at all, the environment continuously supplying what the internal loop doesn&rsquo;t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What this explanation is, and what it isn&rsquo;t<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a hypothetical logical chain, explaining how such a system would be physically possible if every step is confirmed. It is not a description of a device that exists or has been tested in closed loop to date. Each step of this reasoning still needs to be demonstrated independently, in particular the stability and reproducibility of the energy surplus over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The important \u00ab\u00a0but,\u00a0\u00bb never to be forgotten<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"border:1px solid rgba(200,168,75,.45);background:rgba(200,168,75,.08);border-radius:12px;padding:16px 20px;margin:28px 0\">\n<strong>KEY TAKEAWAY.<\/strong> Everything above describes what this would enable if the phenomenon is confirmed by other laboratories, independently of the inventor. For now, it is a serious possibility, backed by measurements, but not yet an established scientific certainty.
